Replacement Linkspan
PROJECT OUTLINE
The project involves several key elements:
- Construction of a new approach area for the linkspan
- Creation and installation of the new linkspan
- Removal of the old linkspan
The project works will take approximately 12 months to construct. Work is now scheduled to start on site in January 2013.
LINKSPAN UPDATE
The Port of Cairnryan Harbour Revision Order 2012 was made on 13 December 2012 and came info force on 14 December.
The contract for the Berth 1 Replacement Linkspan works has been awarded to McLaughlin & Harvey Ltd.
During the public consultation held to date, POCL undertook to hold a third public meeting before the works started on site. That meeting has now been arranged for Tuesday 8 January 2013 at 7pm in the Cairnryan Community Hall.
The main purpose of the meeting is to introduce McLaughlin & Harvey's team and give them the opportunity to explain their particular method of working and estimated dates for key elements of the construction.
